Knitting abbreviations
Knitting has its own language or shorthand for describing the different instructions. These abbreviations become more familiar and easy to follow as you knit more and more patterns. Here are a few.
K = Knit
P = Purl
st(s) = Stitch (es)
g st = garter stitch
st st = stocking stitch
K1, P1 = knit 1, purl 1
rev st st = reverse stocking stitch
tog = together
